At least once per month, we go out into the community to enjoy ourselves and connect with the world around us. Our outings have included restaurants, stores, the circus, and the movies, and have provided great opportunities to practice the skills we have acquired. During these experiences, we work on communication, social interaction, decision-making, and appropriate behavior in public settings. These community trips also encourage independence, build confidence, and help us apply what we’ve learned in real-life situations, all while having fun and creating positive shared memories.
